Mindfulness is the awareness that emerges when we pay attention in a particular way: in the present moment with curiosity and kindness.
Mindfulness for life (MBCT-L) is an 8-week, 9 session evidence-based course that can support in both coping better with difficulties and in savouring life.
Themes include gathering the scattered mind, responding skillfully to thoughts and emotions, and taking better care of yourself.
Each session of the course lasts for two hours and the full day of practice is from 10 am until 4 pm.
Participants are free to share as much or as little of their experience with other members during discussion times.
A degree of commitment is required as there are practices to do at home throughout the week. This home practice involves 40 minutes to an hour each day during the eight week duration.
